We offer post-production services too, for instance, book distribution. We understand that book distribution is an arduous task that consumes time and energy. Apart from that, the search for book distributors or marketers is time-consuming. Hence, we have established our distribution team to make the job easier.
Book distribution involves offering your published books for sale to the public. It includes distributions to schools, educational agencies, libraries and bookshops.
Book Distribution at Books By You
At Books By You, our distribution activities include:
- Including the book title in our periodic catalogue, which is sent to all libraries in Australia and library suppliers
- Including the book in our periodic showcase campaign booklist
- Sending out your book title to various affiliate online bookstores
- Listing your book title on Thorpe Bowker, Title sheets and Nielsen’s book date
- Submit your book title to a genre-specific catalogue
Also, to aid the effective distribution process and marketing, we provide discounts and commission for wholesalers or other distributors. Every day, we continuously watch for improvements, building our distribution network and source for ideas and innovations through various channels.
Our distribution system is strictly sales. We do not accept returns from any of our distribution processes; therefore, all books we sent out are duly paid for. We utilise two major distribution systems, which are Factory-to-consumer distribution and Traditional distribution.
Traditional Distribution
Traditional distribution is the usual distribution mode where books stored at our warehouse are sent out upon wholesalers and retailers’ orders. Often, we submit your book title for listing on their inventory.
We also make use of online retailers such as Amazon.com. We ship to them when they get orders and repackage for shipping to their customers. Also, you can check out our royalties’ rate.
Factory-to-Consumer Distribution
We also offer a factory-to-consumer distribution system through our sales page. It maximises your royalties than the traditional distribution does.
We list out all our published works from recent to old with a CTA button on our bookstore. With a click on the CTA, others can place their order which will be processed within 48hrs.
Requirements for Book Distribution
We do not agree to distribute all books; hence we have specific requirements you must meet if you don’t publish.
First, your book must be of standard. The standard test applies to the book content, cover design and the general outlook. Also,
- Your book must have an International standard book number (ISBN)
- It must be compliant with our editorial style guide.
- It must comply with our book formatting guidelines.
- Our design team must approve of your book design because it is paramount to our marketing strategy.
If we publish your book, it is automatically eligible for distribution. On the other hand, if your book is ineligible, you can agree to correct the defects.

Do You Print on Demand?
Yes, we do. However, we usually comply with orders until a certain number is reached. For instance, we can print low quantities such as 50copies on demand.
